- The Google Chromecast should appear available to you. Click on it and check the code that will appear on the TV.
- Select the WiFi you have created on your mobile, enter the password if necessary and you will have Google Chromecast configured.
- Disconnect the second phone from the WiFi network you created so that there are no data consumption issues.
Now you can use your Google Chromecast simply by activating your mobile’s WiFi hotspot: the icon to share with the Chromecast will appear (at the top right of apps like YouTube or Netflix) so you can click on it and see content on TV. Besides, you can share your mobile screen by opening the Google Home app, choosing the Chromecast and tapping the “Cast my screen” icon at the bottom.
The possibilities are enormous: you can watch Netflix on TV, cast Disney+, send almost any video over the Internet or watch YouTube, for example. Of course, you must have one very important aspect in mind:

Since the connection is only provided by your phone, if Google Chromecast uses internet, it will extract your data; with the risk that your speed will run out in a few hours: streaming eats up a lot of MB.

- Limit content from Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and others as much as possible that you share with the Chromecast since the HDMI will use your internet connection. Our advice is to constantly monitor the consumption of your operator.
- Sharing your mobile screen does not consume internet unless you are streaming content on the phone. You can project the photos from your gallery, the videos and even the movies you have saved in the storage: all this does not spend MB of the tariff.
- You can use apps like Web Video Caster to cast content you have stored locally on your phone to the Chromecast. Remember that this does not consume the internet.
- Google Photos can share anything in your gallery folder with your Chromecast. This doesn’t use mobile data as long as the content is on your phone (and not in the Google Photos backup).
