As is well known, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released this year – and as of today we not only know the official artwork, but also the exact release date. However, more information is yet to come.
Activision and Infinity Ward today released more info snippets about this year’s Call of Duty. After it was previously confirmed that you can look forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in 2022, the specific date in autumn has now been set.
On the occasion of the presentation of the official artwork, which you can also view as part of the news, a new teaser clip was released (see below) – and it also contains the release date at the end. Accordingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available from October 28, 2022 – but for which specific platforms it was left open. So it’s still a bit exciting to see whether PS4 and Xbox One will be served again.
We will probably get more information in the coming weeks, because on June 8, 2022 this year’s part of the long-standing shooter series will be presented in more detail. The first details are already available in the run-up to Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, from which at least a new trailer can probably be expected.
Otherwise, the teaser also picks up various well-known characters that we will see in the remake. Simon “Ghost” Riley joins the cast, along with Mexican Special Forces Captain John Price, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick and newcomer Colonel Alejandron Vargas. Of course, the video doesn’t show the gameplay yet.
Modern Warfare II will be a direct sequel to the 2019 reboot Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to Activision, that part is the most successful title in the entire franchise to date.
