The new Lord of the Rings: Gollum trailer reveals the game’s final release date – a trailer in which the character struggles not to let Sméagol take power.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum, an adventure stealth game developed by Daedalic Entertainment (Deponia), was announced in 2019 and is ready. Nacon, the title’s publisher, has shared the game’s release date, as well as a new trailer that highlights Tolkien’s character’s dual personality.

After losing his precious ring at the hands of Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a perilous journey that will take him from the dungeons of Barad-Dûr to the Wood Elf kingdom of Great’Fear. To survive the dangers of his journey to Middle-earth, iel must sneak, climb and use all his cunning. He must also face his alter ego Sméagol. It is up to the players whether they want Gollum to have the upper hand when making important decisions, or prefer to let Sméagol have the upper hand.

A constant struggle with Sméagol
In the trailer, titled A Split Personality, we see a scene where Gollum fights with his alternate personality, Sméagol. This is exactly what will be one of the great challenges of the game with a selection system. Everything depends on the player’s decisions.
