‘E3 2022’ sees the annual June conference run take the strangest turn yet – with E3 itself being canceled by ESA organizers – both in-person and virtually.
Despite this, most conferences are business as usual – which means we’re still living E3 in all but name. With Geoff Keighley Summer game party lead the charge, you can try to combine the two – Geoffcon? G3? Geoff3? – but to be sure, let’s stick with E3 for another year.
Either way, after experimenting with summer-long conferences at the start of the pandemic, publishers embraced the familiar week-long wave of announcements – starting June 9 – with Microsoft, Future and also Netflix. taking part in a series of live broadcasts. .

The E3 2022 conference schedule at a glance
With pandemic-related delays continuing – recent victims include Breath of the Wild 2 and Starfield jumping to 2023 – and some publishers (such as EA and Sony) likely not showing up at all in June, it’s best to temper your expectations for what is to come.
Despite what will likely be a low-key event, Microsoft and Bethesda are still cooking up a showcase – we’d like to think they’ll have something to fill that Starfield-shaped hole in the calendar – and with Next-Gen now in full swing, there’s is bound to have teasers to get people excited for years to come.

- US East Coast: 2 p.m. (EDT)
- United States West Coast: 11:00 a.m. (PDT)
The first is Summer Game Fest – Geoff Keighley’s showcase that aims to plant a flag as this year’s E3 headline show.
Like last year, Summer Game Fest is now a single showcase instead of multiple reveals spread over several months – and will feature announcements from several major publishers, which will be revealed closer to the time – but to give you an idea From the level of announcements we’ve had previously, the past year has seen Death Stranding’s Director’s Cut, Jurassic Evolution 2, and the long-awaited re-revelation of Elden Ring. Lots to experience!
After the show, it’s Day of the Devs – which should be worth sticking with based on last year’s showing.

Netflix’s week of Geeked announcements – promising “cast reveals, talent appearances, trailer premieres, previews, surprise announcements” and more from over 60 Netflix projects – concludes with a Games-specific showcase on Friday, landing perfectly in the first E3 season.
We already know of several reveals coming this year – with the first airing of the Cyberpunk 2077 animated series, as well as previews of its Resident Evil livestream and The Cuphead Show season 2.
Even if you’re not interested in adaptations, with Netflix increasing its push into playable games as part of its membership, we’d also be surprised by an announcement or two.
Biggest stories from last year’s event:

- UK: 8pm (BST)
- Europe: 9 p.m. (EST)
- US East Coast: 3 p.m. (EDT)

- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Cuphead: Delicious last dish
- American Arcadia
- As dusk falls
- Immortality
- Oxenfree II

After recently delaying Starfield and Redfall to 2023, Xbox and Bethesda now have a huge void to fill at the end of this year.
So what do we know so far? Based on a recent Xbox One leak, the next Forza Motorsport should surface.
Halo Infinite is rumored to be getting a battle royale mode later this year – which could be a boost for a game that’s starting to see its community run out of patience after release – and this showcase is the place to be. to show it.
From Bethesda at least, we imagine we’ll see something about Starfield regardless to whet our appetites, and while we may see teasers for future titles, Fallout 5 is still a long way off, and Elder Scrolls 6 is still many years away. . – so don’t count on it.
Beyond that, there are still plenty of other projects in the works from multiple Xbox studios – Playground’s Fable and Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds 2 among them – and we can expect news of many, many titles coming to Xbox Game Pass. first day.

Plenty to look forward to, then – and yes, fan favorites Sean Day[9] Plott and Mica Burton will be back on hosting duties.
Where are Sony, Ubisoft and Nintendo’s ‘E3 2022’ conferences?
If you’ve ever followed the E3 conferences, you’ll notice that one of the big three console publishers – Sony – isn’t sure if it’ll be showing up for a summer show.
Despite showing off at E3 2020 to reveal the PS5, they’re best written off for another year. Instead, Sony is more likely to produce a status report on specific titles throughout the year.
Beyond, Ubisoft and Nintendo should are showing up again this year – they aired on Saturdays and Tuesdays respectively – while EA has already confirmed it’s skipping the summer period altogether.
