Finally, and after much anticipation, the day has come when the Top Gun DLC has arrived on Microsoft Flight Simulator, coinciding with the film’s premiere in select countries around the world. The mini-expansion that promises to push your piloting skills to the limit is now available in the in-game store and can be yours at no extra cost, in case you were wondering.
In addition to additional content, the developers have made available a website where you can create your own callsign by placing a name and uploading a photo of yourself, a very fun and quite original detail.
Top Gun takes flight in Microsoft Flight Simulator
As for the one included in the expansion, we are faced with the possibility of flying in real locations of the Top Gun program and even landing on an aircraft carrier as a challenge, which I already foresee will not be a challenge at all simple task, although it will be very difficult and not at all tedious.
On the other hand, the DLC also brings the “Maverick” painting of the F/A-18E Super Hornet, the fighter that Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) will pilot in the new feature film. The aircraft will be accompanied by specific training missions to perform all kinds of high-speed, low-altitude maneuvers over mountains and other geographical features, and even a mission to visit the stratosphere.
