Another game that hardly anyone really had on their radar, but on Steam it goes like a rocket on speed. Not only did V Rising get off to a surprising start, it’s now cracking an impressive mark.
V Rising, the new vampire survival game from the creators of Battlerite, is storming the Steam charts at record speed. After just three days, the game had found 500,000 fans and there is no end in sight. As the developers confirmed via Twitter, V Rising even cracked the million mark after just one week.
Stunlock Studios can’t complain about the number of active players either, with a peak value of over 150,000 simultaneous players.
However, the rapid success also has its disadvantages. Players are increasingly reporting hate and discrimination in-game, and developers are waving the flag as they develop tools to stop it. These tools will appear to include stricter filters and options for players to mute offensive language. It’s a shame that this has to be done again.
V Rising has been in Early Access since May 17th and is available for $19.99. Having sold over a million copies in Early Access can only be considered a huge success.
