Real-time light ray tracing technology or Ray Tracing is definitely here to stay. More and more games are implementing this technology. Quake II RTX was released a long time ago which added Ray Tracing to this legendary game. Also, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will now have integrated Laser trace.
Initially, NVIDIA indicated that they would work to implement Ray Tracing in different classic games. The reality is that only Quake II RTX has received this technology to date. Some mods add this technology to different games, but it’s unofficial. Although it is true that some games received it some time later, such as Minecraft.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time integrates Ray Tracing
This mythical game has never been released on PC and officially, it will never be released on PC. So how come it’s coming to PC and with Ray Tracing included? Well, that’s thanks to modder DarioSama, who created the version of super mario 64 for pc with built-in ray tracing technology.
He posted on his Twitter account a video that allows us to see the match with dynamic shadows and ray tracing in one of the most iconic Zelda games. In case there was any doubt, the game had never supported this technology.
That’s not the only interesting thing the video shows us, and that’s that it was adapted to a wider resolution and with a rate of 60FPS. As if that were not enough, Link’s sword will also have reflections, one of the functions of Ray Tracing. He managed to give it a similar effect to the metal cap of the Mario 64 version with Ray Tracing.
SarioMama says he is currently finalizing the game, putting the finishing touches on it. The final version of this game may even be better than the video, which already looks amazing. Fans of this video game will surely love that it receives this technology, giving the game a new look.
Note that Ocarina of Time is available on PC thanks to various developers who have made this possible. He took the game’s source code and reverse-engineered it to run smoothly on PC.

The classics, with modern technologies
Many developers, either because they are fans or to demonstrate their abilities, have brought console classics to PC. In most cases, this is not a big problem, but when it comes to Nintendo games, it can be a huge problem.
The Japanese company persecutes those who pirate games and consoles, as well as “ports” of its classic games. Super Mario 64 with Ray Tracing has been persecuted very harshly by society. He filed a lawsuit against DarioSama, specifically, as well as persecuted the websites that shared the download link.
Anyway, some have even chosen to reissue their classics with this technology. CryTek recently remastered its legendary Crysis saga, adding ray tracing technology. This gives a new look to this impressive game, which was already a sensation at the time.
