deoxysprime, who runs a YouTube account with 165,000 subscribers where all kinds of video game soundtracks can be foundhad to remove his entire library of Nintendo music upon receipt over 500 copyright claims from trigger-happy society.
They didn’t host uploads of commercially available albums; more like the rest of their channel (which we have already presented on the site!), they had uploaded the full soundtracks to titles like Mario Kart 8 and splatoon taken directly from the games themselves. In a statement posted to Twitter on May 30, they write:
Effective immediately, I will be removing all Nintendo music from my channel. With more than 500 claims and a dozen banned soundtracks in the past week, it’s pretty clear they don’t want their music on YouTube. I’m sorry for everyone who likes their music, but I don’t have much of a choice.
I have no intention of deleting my channel and the rest of my non-Nintendo soundtracks will remain available for the foreseeable future. It’s frustrating, but like I said before, it’s ultimately your choice to block your music on the platform.
Good luck to everyone who still bears having Nintendo music on YouTube. So many of these soundtracks were never officially released. But how bigger channels than mine got hit before those who take their place will eventually end up like that too.
In a follow-up message posted on their YouTube page, they say:
I would like to apologize again for the inconvenience this will cause, as I love listening to Nintendo music here as much as you all, but there’s just no point in continuing like this.
As always, you can follow me on Twitter For all other updates and as a general reminder, if you find that any soundtracks have been removed on my channel, you can always assume it was done for copyright reasons. Respect their right to do so, but please continue to urge Nintendo to release their music in official formats as there is no reason these soundtracks should be gone forever. Many Thanks.

Some of the soundtracks that have been removed include those for the smashed Series, Donkey Kong country games, wind alarm clock, F zero Series and most modern Mario and Mario Kart games.
As they say Nintendo if you do please at least release these soundtracks in official formats (albums! Spotify!) because I get I’m so tired of having to link to this old post the whole time.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo has recently targeted a major music channel. Back in January Gilva Sunner received over 1,300 copyright bans and said at the time, “I’m… not angry or surprised that Nintendo is doing this, but I think it’s a bit disappointing that there’s not much of an alternative.”
