While Ubisoft usually holds its big annual conference in June during E3, its habits seem to have changed for 2022.
While Ubisoft usually holds a conference at E3, the tradition has changed in recent years. Due to COVID, the publisher was forced to switch to a dematerialized format in 2020. The Ubisoft Forward has since become the French publisher’s main means of communication. We remember that other streams took place in September 2020 but also in June 2021. The summer meeting could still be canceled for this year.
We recall that last March, Tom Henderson stated that according to his sources, Ubisoft would be holding a big conference before E3. However, we can imagine that recent events (including the war in Ukraine) may have forced the publisher to reconsider its plans. We remember that Ubisoft has a studio in Kyiv.
Ubisoft: a back-to-school conference?
According to data fromaxios, Ubisoft will not hold any conferences next June. The publisher seems to prefer to save its cassettes for later in the year. We do not know if we will therefore see a Ubi Forward in July, August or if we will have to wait until the start of the school year. However, the company has enough to make a nice conference.
In fact, several games should talk about bodies of water. We think of The Crew 3, Assassin’s Creed Rift (if its name is confirmed), the sequel to Immortal Fenyx Rising or even the game Prince of Persia in 2.5D. Based on the latest financial reports, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Skull and Bones are in the works and scheduled for release before March 31, 2023.
Not to mention the dormant projects like Beyond Good & Evil 2. We also know that Ubi Forward is an opportunity for the publisher to share news on all of its already released games. We can therefore expect information about Rainbow Six Quarantine, R6 Siege and why not Rollers Champions.
