The release date of the sci-fi survival horror game Callisto Agreement Tonight provided a first look at the gameplay.

Set against the backdrop of Jupiter’s “Dead Moon” Callisto in 2320, Jacob Lee (actor Josh Duhamel) is an inmate at the Dark Iron Prison when a mysterious outbreak throws everything into chaos when he must fight for his life.

Prison guards and inmates are mutating into terrifying biophages, and Jacob must not only fight to survive, but to uncover the dark secrets of the United Jupiter Company.

With this game, you can look forward to a depressing world that leaves you feeling desolate, isolated and nervous.

The game takes advantage of the PS5’s 3D audio capabilities and utilizes acoustic ray tracing, diffraction and portals to fully immerse you in the world, leaving you feeling trapped, isolated and alone. Well, you’re not alone – monsters are running around this place.

For the game, Striking Distance Studios designed a strategic combat system that forces you to get up close and personal with these terrifying creatures. To fight them back, you can use melee combat and gravity weapons called GRPs.

With GRP, you can freeze enemy trails, or throw terrifying creatures into turbofans or environmental hazards. Because ammo, health, and weapons are all valuable resources, you’ll need to scour the prison for any advantage you can find.

Callisto Protocol launches on December 22 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
