With WWDC 2022 fast approaching, the spotlight is turning to the new operating system for the iPhone. We are talking about iOS 16, which is already obsessing users, and it is not for less, because there are many things that could change forever on our iPhone.
Manage health, sleep, revamps and notifications
With a new operating system, Apple introduces new features that change the way we use our devices. For some reason, however, it looks like iOS 16 will bring more changes than usual. One of the most important is improved lock screen. An improvement that ties into the possibility that this year’s iPhone 14 Pro will have an always-on display.
According to Gurman, we would see an improved lock screen with a few wallpapers that are said to have “widget-like capabilities”, which will also become interactive. A somewhat enigmatic statement, but one of the most interesting considering how few changes have been made to this section of our iPhone in recent years.
We also hope that there will be a no more social component to Messages app, with particular attention to voice messages. At the same time, we will see improvements in the Health app. Improvements, primarily, that will improve sleep tracking and medication management. A feature that could even allow us to scan medicine containers in the application to add information, schedule doses, etc.
Notifications are another point that will see a substantial change. According to Gurman, iOS 16 will bring “significant” improvements to notifications, but we don’t have more details. The truth is that we have already seen a more than substantial change in notifications with the arrival of iOS 15 last year.
We have seen the arrival of concentration statutes and notification summaries, for example. In this sense, talking about significant improvements invites us to think about major changes in this areaperhaps in the form of additional features to manage our notifications or an overhaul of the tools we already have.
Emergency communications, new apps and more
When it comes to emergency communications, we expect the iPhone 14 to be able to auto-detect vehicle collisions and call emergencies automatically, which may well happen to other iOS 16 phones. The new operating system could also bring satellite communications support in case of emergency.
Finally, iOS 16 would bring a new interaction system. We have absolutely no idea what this rumor may be referring to, but, without a doubt, this seems to be one of the major changes that come with the new operating system. Along with this, we expect, according to Gurman, “New Apple Apps”although we don’t know which ones either.
All in all, we are facing an update which, as we started by saying, can bring significant changes to our iPhone. An update which We will know all the details next Monday at 7:00 p.m. and that we can start beta testing during the summer.
