WWDC is a software-focused keynote from Apple. If anything, new services are displayed. This has been the case at the last two WWDCs and this is how WWDC 2022 will be this Monday. Or not? Good. What is certain is that it is inevitable to think of all these products which we can’t wait to see and for those who are (or should be) several months away. Do you already know what they are?
The elusive 27-inch iMac
A few weeks before the event this spring that gave birth to the Mac Studio and the Apple Studio Display, we were almost convinced that we would see the “big” iMac 2022. A replica of the iMac M1 2021 but with more inches. The team that many are waiting for with open arms.
These rumors and leaks of a 27-inch iMac eventually came true. Only it was not an iMac but also the 27 inch Studio Display. The disappointment was general, although many users found the screen all in one they waited a long time.
What if we saw this iMac 2022 Monday? It’s hard to believe, but who knows. The same Apple has this big ace up its sleeve and we haven’t seen it yet. Of course, few eager audiences for a team like this Monday will find themselves coming from Cupertino.
The AirPods Pro 2 we want now
It’s no secret that AirPods are one of Apple’s most loved and desired products. Its huge popularity while listening to music and audio anywhere, in comfort and with a considerable battery, makes it the daily companion of millions of people. And that’s why, now that the AirPods 3 have been with us for a while, it’s time to set our sights on the AirPods Pro 2.
With nearly three years behind it, there is speculation of two possible designs. The first, would keep the current with its characteristic short “leg”. The second would remove it to make them more rounded. The truth is, that little leg is already a defining feature of AirPods and it’s hard to believe Apple will eliminate it.
What we expect beyond the design is its ability to play music from Apple Music in lossless format. A function for which new hardware is needed and where we expect to see the H2 wireless connection chip. Is it too early to see the AirPods Pro 2? In all certainty, since the latest rumor evokes mass production from this month of July for a launch in the fall.
Enough of making the partridge dizzy: we want to see the HomePod 2022
At a WWDC, the original HomePod was presented. And in a WWDC we should see his successor, having been sacked from Cupertino more than a year ago. The HomePod 2022 was until recently a pipe dream, a dream many of us had after the demise of the granny HomePod.
We may not see a single one of these products, but that doesn’t stop us from thinking about them every time Apple announces a keynote.
And now result that Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s master of secrets on the Asian assembly line, releases a new HomePod in one of his predictions. We do not expect changes in the design, but in its capabilities. Although here we have not received any progress via rumors.
Apple Glasses: now or never
Apple Glasses are a never-ending rumor. They’ve been there so long that it is difficult to distinguish all that is solid. To the point that they begin to remind us of the AirTag. The AirTag leaked so much that even Samsung came up with its proposal months before its official launch.
With Apple glasses, the Californian company bears the same risk. That its slow development (necessary, on the other hand) ends up scaring people away here and there. Small details, but together they help you get a sense of the puzzle and can fill in the gaps with your own technology.
That’s why Apple’s glasses are approaching the watershed moment: now or never. We don’t think of a proper presentation, with all sorts of details, release date and final price. Apple Glasses will change everything and it takes preparation. But we have to see Something. And so on.
