What began as a rescue measure for the gaming gems of the past has blossomed over time into a large and popular sales platform. Today, GOG.com, which actually stands for “Good Old Games”, not only has “old” games that have been made operable again, but also increasingly modern titles – as long as the publishers are willing to remove the copy protection measures for the DRM-free platform .
For the big summer sale that has just started, which runs for a full three weeks from June 6th to 27th, another major publisher has now decided to take this step: SEGA. As the first game from their catalog, they now offer you first-class survival horror with all DLCs for around 12 dollars with the Alien: Isolation Collection. Two Point Hospital and the anniversary edition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will follow shortly.
As usual, there are also gifts: The adventure classic Sanitarium can be dusted off for 0 dollars until June 8 at 3 p.m. GameStar veteran Gunnar Lott rated the psychological horror adventure with a respectable 77 percent. Four more gifts will be waiting for you during the course of the sale.
Here’s the free game
If you are more in the mood for a shooter or if the DRM is not so important to you, here is a reminder that Epic is still offering Wolfenstein: The New Order for free for a short time:

Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation – survival horror game review video
Genre: Action | Developer: Creative Assembly | Release: 7. October 2014 (PC) | Preis: 12 dollars (Collection with all DLCs reduced by 75 percent; base game 10 dollars) | Offer valid until: 27. June 2022
The Sevastopol space station and the story of Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the tough action heroine from the cult films, has enchanted Alien fans since it first appeared in 2014. Rarely has the atmosphere of a film been transferred so well into a game, and the surroundings of the film sets from the 70s have been so lovingly detailed modeled after Alien: Isolation.
As you sneak through rooms full of oversized computer consoles with beige panels and big colorful knobs, you’ll immediately feel like you’re on the set of the original film. The emphasis here is on stealth, though, because while you’ll occasionally find weapons like a pump shotgun or flamethrower, direct confrontations quickly lead to the early sci-fi grave.
But if you stick to the premise of dodging hostile androids and the deadly alien with the iconic aubergine head instead of throwing yourself at every opportunity, then an excellent and truly nerve-wracking story awaits. In this, 15 years after the disappearance of her mother Ellen, Amanda goes in search of the Nostromo’s flight recorder.
The game thus joins the ranks of the rare games that not only retell a film plot, but also meaningfully continue and supplement it. Of course, you can find out everything else about the game in our test:

The Best RPG of 2019 – What makes Disco Elysium so good?
Genre: Roleplay | Developer: ZA / UM Studio Release: 15. October 2019 | Preis: 14 dollars (reduced by 65 percent) | Offer valid until: 27. June 2022
How could we not highlight the front runner from our big ranking of the 100 best story games? The role-playing game not only understood the quintessence of the genre name, but also masterfully implemented it.
Graphically it may not be a milestone, but once you get involved with the deep character system and have created your very own (anti-)hero, you will suffer and laugh all the more intensely with the shabby detective Harry Du Bois during the grandiose crime story.
At first, the game overwhelms and confuses you with its complex catalog of 24 skills and the lizard brain that talks to you, in order to help you even more into the role of the alcoholic Harry. At the beginning, he just doesn’t get along with himself and his environment. Whether it stays that way and if not, in which direction it changes, is entirely up to you.
The best way to convince yourself of how great the freedom of choice in Disco Elysium is is in our test. Alternatively, Plus members can also watch the gold medal video from our ranking, in which editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge and editor Stephanie Schlottag compare their favorite memories from the milestone:

More exciting offers from the GOG Summer Sale
In addition to these two very special experiences, there are of course many other real bargains among the more than 2,500 reduced games. We have put together a small selection for you.
As a reminder: It is part of GOG’s special service to keep older games running on modern systems and to apply appropriate solutions directly during installation, so that you don’t have to fiddle around with them yourself.
- The Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt: The Game of the Year Edition contains everything you need for a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy about the witcher Geralt, even if you haven’t played the predecessors. (10 Euro, reduced by 80 percent)
- Cyberpunk 2077: Unsurprisingly, CD Projekt’s second major open-world role-playing series is also on sale at subsidiary GOG. In the futuristic Night City you make your way as a shrewd contract mercenary and try to come to terms with Keanu Reeve’s voice in your head. (30 euro, reduced by 50 percent)
- Divinity – Original Sin 2: Developer Larian has a heart for role-players and they prove it, among other things, in the second part of their Original Sin series, which lets you strive for divinity in a dystopian fantasy world according to all the rules of pen and paper art. (18 dollars, reduced by 60 percent)
- SWAT 4 – Gold Edition: If Ready or Not is still too unfinished for you, then this SWAT simulation is still one of the best addresses for tactically kicking down doors in a team. (5 dollars, reduced by 50 percent)
- Heroes of Might and Magic 3 – Complete: If there’s one timelessly good old game on GOG, it has to be Heroes 3. Despite being released in 1999, fans still regard it as one of the best turn-based strategy games of all time. (2 dollars, reduced by 75 percent)
- Star Wars – Knights of the Old Republic 1+2: No less loved and still playable are the two legendary role-playing games from the old republic, in which you gradually put your stamp on the galaxy as either a Jedi or Sith in high-quality dialogues and battles pressed (each 3 dollars, reduced by 65 percent)
- Deus Ex – Game of the Year Edition: Long before Cyberpunk or its later successors, the first Deus Ex took us into a dystopian future and let us experience a gripping agent story in large open levels with the help of numerous skills and weapons. (1 $, reduced by 86 percent)
- Gangsters – Organized Crime: There are far too few manager games anyway, and the gangster version even more so. In Gangsters you hire new thugs, extort protection money, fight with the other families and without further ado blow up the town hall if the mayor doesn’t feel it. (1 $, reduced by 75 percent)
- To The Moon: In the indie adventure, you grant the dying one of their last wishes and magically give them memories of a life that never was. (2 dollars, reduced by 80 percent)
