On the June 9, 2022 menu of the day, we begin with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which was revealed last night. We’ll continue with the animated cyberpunk that offered a trailer during Netflix Geeked Week. And we’ll end with the press reviews of two games set to hit the headlines this weekend: Mario Strikers and The Quarry. The daily is running.
Modern Warfare 2: Warzone 2, trailer, gameplay: everything we learned!
Yesterday, June 8th, we officially saw for the first time Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the part of the saga that wants to do better than its predecessors. Vanguard and Cold War, two games that clearly didn’t find unanimous support in 2020 and 2021. Activision Blizzard plays it safe by offering a sequel to Modern Warfare, the 2019 reboot. It should be noted that these episodes are reboots and not remakes of Modern Warfare 1 and 2, released in 2007 and 2008 were published. Warzone, the Battle Royal way Call of Duty also offers a second episode. It will be a great adaptation of the annual episode’s gameplay. MW2 will be released on October 28th, 2022 on PC, specifically on Steam and Battle.Net, but also on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. We’ll have to wait a little longer for Warzone 2.
Cyberpunk presents its animated series Edgerunners!
The Cyberpunk 2077 anime series is still alive despite the chaotic game launch. A full trailer shows us what the series will look like. It is scheduled for September 2022 and will be produced by Studio Trigger. To categorize you, we find the director of the series who worked on Gurren Lagann or Kill la Kill, as well as the executive director who worked on an episode of Star Wars Visions. The music was composed by Akira Yamaoka, the author of the compositions of the Silent Hill saga. 10 episodes are planned and will tell the story of a street kid living in Night City before Edgerunner, a lawless mercenary.
Mario Strikers and The Quarry: What’s It Worth?
The Quarry and Mario Strikers are the two titles of the week coming out on June 10, 2022. We’ll start with Mario Strikers, Mario’s third soccer spin-off to land on Switch after appearing on GameCube and Wii. The editors gave it 16/20 thanks to its accessible and technical gameplay, visual spectacle and the fact that the game is multiplayer, local and online. At The Quarry we are talking about the spiritual sequel to Until Dawn made by the same developers. As a reminder, the formula is simple, it’s an interactive drama, so a game with a very strong staging and relatively little freedom in gameplay. The atmosphere is based on the slasher, a very codified horror genre with a serial killer.
