Despite all the rumors about a new Silent Hill, the horror experts at Bloober Team announced the comeback of a completely different horror series at the Summer Game Fest. Layers of Fears is coming out in 2023!
There was at least a small teaser last October, now it’s fixed: The horror experts from Bloober Team are dedicating themselves – after The Medium, Observer and Blair Witch – to one of their absolute flagship brands and are releasing Layers of Fears. This is a kind of remake of the previous two horror titles, including the DLC content, which are now to appear in a common package for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC – albeit in an expanded form. The release period for this is the beginning of 2023.
The reboot for the new platforms will be developed together with Anshar Studios. The special thing about it: The two horror classics are reissued in the Unreal Engine 5 and therefore shine in new graphic splendor. Not only the optics have been renewed, but also the gameplay. The plot has also been expanded.
The new story elements aim to shed “a new light” on the game’s overarching narrative. Accordingly, you also get to deal with new horrors. It remains to be seen how this will manifest itself in the course of the game.
