The iPhone is the only thing we need to use the Fitness app!
Dedicated fitness tracking apps seemed inseparable from the Apple Watch. And while the hardware makes that decision logical, Apple decided to take advantage of those who are immune to the condition. Since iOS 16 update, the Fitness app will be available on our iPhone, although we don’t have an Apple Watch.
The same iPhone motion sensors that let you count steps, distance and third-party workouts, now will be helpful with Fitness. The update will allow you to set a daily movement goal, using the iPhone to track your progress towards the health or fitness goal.
The iPhone offers more options to take care of our health
Sure, the app will look different from the one available on the Apple Watch. Although it looks very similar, it doesn’t include a Fitness+ tab as it’s an Apple Watch-limited feature, and nor rings for support and exercise.
What does the Fitness app offer?
The app Fitness displays daily active calorie trend data, exercise minutes, standing hours, standing minutes, distance traveled and aerobic capacity. Trends compare the last 90 days of activity to the last 365 days.
the app too offers reminders of our goals and how far we are ahead or behind them.
From now on, Apple is giving us one less excuse not to adopt a more active lifestyle. The only requirement for users is to have an iOS 16 compatible iPhone.
With iOS 16, Apple promises to be a great update for the iPhone and comes with lots of exciting new features. Apple adds important customizations for the lock screen, editable texts, more security and of course options to take care of our health.
