Skyrim is traditionally modded a lot and gladly. A new video now shows what else is graphically in the more than ten-year-old game. To achieve this, a youtuber applied more than 1,500 mods and used the Reshade RTGI filter, which is designed to simulate ray tracing.
The video is from the Youtube channel Digital Dreams, who deals extensively with graphic mods and has many more impressive videos ready. But we particularly liked the Skyrim video because it is a complete makeover of a beloved classic.
With all the mods, walking through the game world is even more fun. You can see the relevant video here:

In the following article at GameStar Plus we discuss whether a genuine new Skyrim or a successor to one of the most famous computer games of all time would really be such a good idea:
Why Skyrim 2 is a great idea and a terrible idea at the same time
It’s not perfect
Skyrim: Elysium Remastered, as the Digital Dreams modders call the project, isn’t perfect either. Especially in the fight scenes you can see the game’s old roots. Enemies appear awkward and movement unnatural. At least that’s how we know we’re still dealing with Skyrim.
There is no information on the performance or the hardware requirements of the project. However, Digital Dreams lets us know which hardware was used. The system has it all:
- graphic card: ASUS TUF Geforce RTX 3090
- processor: Ryzen 9 3900X, 4,5 Ghz
- RAM: Corsair Vengance 32 GB
- M2 SSD: Samsung Evo 970
- SSD: Crucial MX500 (2 TB)
- Mainboard: Asus Prime X470 Pro
If you want to recreate the Elysium Remastered mod pack yourself on your own PC, you can. You can find the complete mod list including installation instructions at Github. The Reshade filter, on the other hand, is only available by payment via Patreon available as used by Digital Dreams.

Mods bring new life to games
The fact that we can change some of our favorite games through mods and that almost everyone can contribute opens up a lot of possibilities. Recently, for example, we really liked a mod for fancier forests in Skyrim.
But other games can also be changed and adapted to your wishes. If you want to experience the Sims 4, Minecraft or Valheim in a new way, we have the right guides for you here:
How do you feel about mods? Do you like to change your games or do you prefer to play them the way the developers intended? Please let us know!
