Apple has already released a beta version of tvOS 16, the next version of the Software from AppleTV. It is possible to go back and here we show you how to do it.
How to downgrade an Apple TV HD (4th Gen) from the tvOS beta
This method will only work if you are using a 4th generation Apple TV HD model. If you have an Apple TV 4K, the procedure is slightly different because it doesn’t have a USB-C port. We’ll show you how to do that in the next section.

1. Go to the file download page IPSW and choose your Apple TV.
2. Select Apple TV HD 4 (if you have an Apple TV 4K, see the steps in the next section).
3. Find the latest version of tvOS that you want to work with. This must be a signed version; if it is not signed, you will not be able to obtain it.
4. Click on the desired version.
5. Then click on the “Download” tab to download the firmware.
6. Now turn on the Apple TV and connect it to your computer using a USB-C cable.

How to downgrade an Apple TV 4K from the tvOS beta
Since the Apple TV 4K does not have a USB-C port, you will not be able to perform the demote following the instructions above, which require the use of a Mac or PC.
Fortunately, it is possible to do this by restarting it if you follow these steps:
1. First, you need to unenroll your Apple TV from Apple’s beta program. To do this, on your Apple TV, click on ‘Settings > System > Software Update’.
2. Click “Get Beta Updates” (or “Get Public Beta Updates”) to disable this feature.
3. If you want to opt out of the beta program completely, you can click on the link on the bottom of the page. You may need to sign in with the Apple ID and password you use for the beta program before you can do this.
4. Now go to ‘Settings > System > Reset’.
5. Click ‘Reset’.
6. Wait for your Apple TV to restart. Your Apple TV 4K needs to be factory reset.
