Niantic is bringing some changes to Community Day in June with assignments Pokemon Go Players work together to extend the event time.
You see, some people have been upset since Niantic reverted to the pre-Covid time frame in April. When Covid hit, the studio extended Community Day from three to six hours, giving players plenty of time to get out and about without having to interact with a lot of people.
The change in event time is also welcome for those who work weekends, as it means they can attend at some point.
However, according to Niantic, the main reason it decided to reinstate the three-hour event was that only “5%” of players were involved for more than three hours. The company also believes that since most people aren’t participating at the same time, extended hours doesn’t foster a sense of community, as fewer people can “play together and connect outside” later in the day.
Many in the Pokemon Go community, still affected by the time change, continue to express their dissatisfaction, so Niantic has decided to compromise with the June Community Day.
In June, the event will be extended, but only if players cooperate in person.
How this will work is that after the three-hour Community Day event, players will be able to challenge four-star raids. Winning one of these raids will result in more featured Pokemon appearing around the gym where the raid is being held for 30 minutes. It’s important to note that these raids are only accessible via the Raid Pass and Premium Battle Pass, which means you can’t use the Ranged Raid Pass.
In other words, if you want to help extend your Community Day, you’re going to need to take part in a four-star raid in person—not on the couch or in the middle of nowhere.
By the way, let’s talk about the Pokemon you’ll be catching on Community Day.
This is Deino the angry Pokemon, and if you’re lucky, you might come across a shiny one.
During the event and up to five hours after, if you evolve Deino’s evolution Zweilous into Hydreigon, it will know Charged Attack Brutal Swing.
During the event, you can enjoy 1/4 hatching distance by placing eggs in the incubator during the event, 2× chance to catch Deino to get Deino Candy XL, 2× catch Pokemon candy, activate Lure Modules during the event period will last for three hours, incense activated during the event period Will last three hours.
One additional special trade can be made during and up to five hours after the event, up to three in a day, and trades made during and up to five hours after the event will require 50% less Stardust.
