Nox Hummer Zero: technical aspects
The Nox Hummer Zero is a solid white tower that fits the plates microATX and mini-ITX. One of the best things is the opening of the door with a magnetic closure, with a hinge that avoids the constant removal of the panel as we will see later, while this is one of the most unique features box.
Top internal connections include a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and two jacks: one with a microphone and one with headphones. Earlier we also find function pointers and power reset buttons, as we need to compress the past with a pen or something sharp because we can't use it with nails.
In the background we have an IO hole, a 120 mm fan without PWM, and four expansion windows, which are protected by its protectors. The floor has a dust filter.
The box gets the last 2 inches and 2.5 inches of storage, in good order as we'll see later. Sources and storage areas are separated by a metal separator that can be removed. Maximum font size is 210 mm.
As for thin air, we have a 120mm installed fan. We can put four more fans up to five in a box. Two of them can be advanced, with a size of up to 120 mm, and in the upper part there can be two or 120 mm fans. Therefore, we can place radiators up to 240 mm both at the top.
In the CPU space, the box allows us to position the heatsinks up to 160 mm in height. Therefore, large market heatsinks such as the Noctua NH-D15 are not fit in the box, they are forced to choose the more refined ones. As for graphics cards, we can place models up to 330 mm long if we put the fan in front. If we do not put the front fan against the card (top it), it reaches 350 mm.
Finally, we weigh a box of 5.12 pounds, with a total weight of 6.02 kg. Dimensions are 360 mm (width), 208 mm (height) and 425 mm (depth).
Inbox and outbox updates
The cardboard box comes with information about the tower and various paintings of it. When removed, we find it highly protected with two plastic molds and a plastic bag that protects the entire box. Although there is a separation between the glass and the box, if something passes through it the glass may crack because there is nothing in between. Fortunately, if nothing breaks the box, it will be able to withstand the traffic. The box includes a manual, screws and internal wiring that we will see later.
The side glass is protected by plastic on both sides to avoid unwanted transport cracks. The magnet is powerful, but when we put the box down toward the floor, the door opens, so be careful when moving it. The glass is completely transparent, giving the impression that no glass is completely clean.
To perform a visual analysis of the box we find a side panel of glass with black frames, whose left side is hidden which creates a window airtight closure. On the front we get a completely clean design with no opening.
On the right is where we find the open air when the front fans take a breath. This grid, however, does not have a dust filter, so, it would be easy to place one to prevent its remote access of our computer. The opening of this side panel is used with two screwdrivers in the back.
On the back we get 4 bays for expansion, an ATX source hole, and a fan that has been installed.
At the top of the box we find power and reset buttons, work lights, USB connectors and audio jacks.
At the bottom of the box we find two plastic feet with four rubber shells. We also have a dust filter for power supply, as well as two screws to be removed to clear the bay and also include hard drives and SSD drives.
The box is quite light, this is one of the benefits of this type of chassis format, where a little over 5 kg has a lighter metal and solvent, much lighter than the Nox Hummer Fusion S we reviewed recently. In the case of Hummer Zero, we see a more premium finish, which helps with its minimalist design, its white color, and the side-by-side glass opening system.
A small piece of cloth to open the side panel is very practical and efficient, but maybe it would be better for some kind of solution that doesn't always make the fabric there, because it breaks the minimalist design of the box However, this is still a simple anecdote, and probably one of the best to open the panel we've seen, paired with some silent boxes! Open them by pressing the back button.
The Nox Hummer Zero is made of 0.6 mm SPCC. Boxing glass is attractive, and has a magnetic closure, so opening the door you need to pull a small piece of cloth. In the event that we want to remove the glass, we have to open it above 90º and heat it up, again where we can remove it completely by removing the hanging screws.
An internal review
The box is really light inside, because its good design allows you to spend on things like RGB lighting. We have all the right space to place long graphics cards up to 330 mm (350 mm without the front fans), although as we mentioned earlier, large CPU heatsinks on the market can have problems. Therefore, this box is designed to cool fluid through 240 mm radiators or medium heatsinks.
The fan mounting box is 120 mm, and is located on the back. Its design is quite simple, and a three-wire cable means we don't have PWM to control its flexibility. Fortunately, it doesn't make too much noise, although it would be nice to be able to control these changes. We can also connect it directly to the power supply via the installed MOLEX cable.
On the front we have the followers bracket, which is based on easily putting everything out of the box. However, if we want to place a 240 mm radius, it will have to be mounted on the front, because previously there is no additional radiator mounting, which usually measures about 30 mm above those at 240 mm Accept the front. Therefore, it may be best to leave the front of the box and place the fans, putting liquid cooling on top of the push configuration for better air flow. As always, we recommend that you at least put the fan in front to have better air flow pressure that improves internal cracks.
If we go to the right side, we find two holes where we can actually mount 2-inch SATA SSD units, which is a great look for this compact box type and allows us to save space on the floor by having only one bracket for storage units. We can put ourselves on the back if we want a cleaner front.
The separator between the plate and the electrical outlet is attached to the box and cannot remove it, because it is probably part of a box structure, which is quite durable despite being light.
Going in the opposite direction, we have wiring and screws attached to a small flange and space for more storage units and power supplies, as well as a place where we will install SSD screws.
The storage area has an interesting design, as it allows us to put the hard disk inside. However, at the top, it is "windy" and allows us to place an SSD or hard disk, as we like. An option that is flexible in size despite the small size of this unit.
This storage area is removable by removing two screws at the bottom of the box, able to properly remove all the units from it. If we are going to install the hard disk and the SSD, we need to put the SSD first and then the hard disk, which is mounted thanks to the small metal plates attached to it. The hard drive screws are mounted on the sides.
When it comes to power supply, being a solid divider and you can access from the top, it will be very important that we connect the wires we will need before putting them in the box, because there are some with a split hole.
From the wiring we get everything you need in the box. We have all the power cables, including Power LED + and LED-, as well as Power SW, Reset SW and HDD LED. On the other hand, we also have a USB 3.0 connector, another USB connector to two other 2.0 ports on the front, and an Audio Audio connector for the front audio.
The back of the box should be noted that the metal protectors of the bays are belded, so if you remove them you will not be able to set them back. This is not too much of a problem for the top two, since that will be eliminated from actually setting up a graphics card. The problem is, if we remove the lower one from the card for a while, we can't replace it. It is one of the possible locations between the boxes.
At Hardware, we have 12 plate screws, 8 screwed ones (6 of them already installed), 6 source screws and 6 final screws.
Usually, on the back side of the plate we have enough space to place the wires, because in addition the company inserts five flanges so that it can leave everything neatly and neatly folded. Other details are the installation of a suede cleaning glass box, which will eventually be unknowingly filled when we hold the box or remove it.
Conclusion
The Nox Hummer Zero is one of the best invaders comply with the premium termination we can buy today; Especially with its price range. It's light, elegant, with space for storage and cooling, and a quick side-by-side system that will allow us to go inside to make any changes or simply clean it without removing and putting screws.
It's a really nice box with a little design, and if it's the size of the computer you want to install, you can't go wrong. Hopefully in the future the company will introduce the same model and ATX size, which will be commercially successful.
