It’s no news that Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl didn’t go smoothly. GSC Game World, it’s not its own fault. GSC Game World, based in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was unfortunately forced to halt development of the game in March, while the Russian invasion of the country was underway.

If you haven’t already, check out the official reveal trailer for STALKER 2 here.

Just three weeks ago, it was reported that GSC Game World had relocated to Prague (via Eurogamer), and development of the game continues.

Previously, the game was delayed until December 2022, and given the invasion, it’s understandable that development moved to the sidelines. News of STALKER 2’s second delay came from last night’s (June 12) Xbox and Bethesda showcase, which detailed that the upcoming Xbox graphic showing STALKER 2 over the next 12 months was on its roster.

STALKER 2 showcases the games coming to Xbox in the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023, with a ton of games we can expect to see and play in early 2023. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one for both Xbox and PC, and it is expected that it may appear on other platforms after launch.

Fans haven’t seen a new STALKER title since The Call of Pripyat in 2009, so regardless of the unfortunate and inevitable delay, the level of anticipation for STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is high. very high.

Also, you may have noticed a slightly revised title for the upcoming game. Formerly known as “Heart of Chernobyl”, the Russian spelling of Power Plant, GSC Game World has been changed to “Heart of Chernobyl” in favor of the Ukrainian spelling.

With any luck, we should hopefully see more of Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl in 2023, and we can’t wait to see what GSC Game World brings to the segment.
