After the hashtag #DelaySonicFrontiers became a trending topic earlier this month, Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka, the person in charge, has confirmed Sonic Frontier There will be no delay.
As part of an upcoming interview with the outlet, Iizuka spoke to VGC about his reaction to the footage that has come to light so far. Fans have mixed opinions on Sonic Frontiers so far, with many concerned about how it will actually play. On the other hand, Iizuka doesn’t seem to care much about this fact.
“It’s not surprising,” Iizuka replied when asked about the mixed reactions. “We do realize that everyone is going to react in some way to the video they see, and because they don’t understand what this new gameplay is, they’re going to compare it to other games they already know.”
Iizuka noted that the team knew all the reviews, people speculating about what the game actually was or wasn’t. He also reiterated the selling point of the new “open area” format used by the game.
“This new game system itself is something that doesn’t exist in any other game of its kind, so we really hope that from here to launch, we can really explain what open area gameplay is.”
Beyond that, Iizuka noted that fans will be able to experience the game firsthand at Gamescom or at the Tokyo Game Show so they can “know what the game is. Because right now we’re just watching what people think they think.” Video of game content reacting.”
Iizuka also has no intention of postponing the game, citing confidence in the fact that playtests have been very positive. “We’re very confident in the playtest results we got. A lot of people said they had a good time and they really liked the game.”
Right now, the only reason games could be postponed is if the entire team has the coronavirus or is hospitalized, so whether you like it or not, Sonic is coming to you.
