Project xCloud Preview is coming to iOS today, but with some restrictions

Microsoft has extended its Project xCloud preview to iOS users, but due to restrictions in the App Store policy.

With TestFlight programs in the US, UK, and Canada, iOS users can preview using Project xCloud.

Holds up to 10,000 testers, and due to App Store policy restrictions, Do not Xbox console streams are now included. Only Project xCloud is being tested.

According to App Store policies, the only game currently available is Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

If you want to be invited, the invitation will be sent on a first come, first served basis.

In order to participate in the Project xCloud restricted iOS TestFlight preview, you will need to have a Microsoft account associated with the Xbox Gamer Tag. Your iOS device must be running 13.0 or higher, and it must be running Bluetooth version 4.0.

You will also need an Xbox One wireless controller with Bluetooth enabled, and obviously you need access to a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection that supports 10Mbps downlink bandwidth, similar to streaming video.

For iOS users registered in the Android preview, here's how to participate in Major Nelson's benefits:

• Open Project xCloud registration link
• Update the registration of Project xCloud (Preview) and indicate that you are an iOS user via the "Mobile Device" drop-down menu
• By updating your registration to iOS, you request access to the Project xCloud TestFlight preview. This will not affect your Android registration. You can still play on your Android device
• If testers are still available, you will receive an email from TestFlight for Xbox Game Streaming (preview)
• Open this message from your iOS device with a link to download TestFlight to your iOS device
• Follow TestFlight installation steps
• From the TestFlight application, install the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) application
• Sign in to the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) application with your MSA

For those iOS users who have not registered in the Android preview.

• Open Project xCloud registration link
• Sign up for Project xCloud (Preview) and indicate that you are an iOS user via the "Mobile Device" drop-down menu
• By selecting iOS, you request access to the Project xCloud TestFlight preview.
• If testers are still available, you will receive an email from TestFlight for Xbox Game Streaming (preview)
• Open this message from your iOS device with a link to download TestFlight to your iOS device
• Follow TestFlight installation steps
• From the TestFlight application, install the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) application
• Sign in to the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) application with your MSA

Project xCloud Preview was launched on Android in October.
