Dude builds a working Xbox Series X that stands over 6 feet tall

Big Xbox

What is this now, a series? A guy builds a tiny little PS5 So does someone else have to go out and build a massive Xbox Series X?

(Obviously not, it’s just weird that we have two things like this in one week!)

Michael Pick, aka The Casual Engineerwas inspired by Microsoft’s own attempts turn the Xbox Series X into a refrigerator, but then equally frustrated that the larger novelty console didn’t actually function as a console anymore. So he set about making something even bigger, and this time building something that was still a working video game console.

The result? This massive Xbox Series X that’s over 2m (6’5″) tall and 1m (3′) wide. And OK, although this required less hardware witchcraft than Shrink a PS5 into a case only 2.5 cm widethere is still an impressive level of craftsmanship and detail that went into this build.

First of all it works, you can connect it to a TV and play gloriole on it, don’t worry (the giant wooden frame actually has… one regular retail unit inside). But Pick also went to the trouble of working out the (now enormous) details of the console, like creating replicas of all the correct ports and labeling for the back of the console, which look very cool at their enlarged size.

I surprised ZHC with the world’s largest XBOX Series X

For what it’s worth is the construction now the Guinness World Record holder for “Largest Xbox Console” (which is a easy stretch as this is really just a frame for a regular Xbox but whatever). And if you’ve come this far without seeing the whole thing and are wondering what becomes of such an Absolute Unit now, the good news is that it was donated to a YMCA in Atlanta for kids to play on a console, which takes up a hilarious amount of space in the room.
