Currently only available in China, the first Intel GPU has been scrutinized and obviously the first tests are quite disappointing. Here’s what we can tell you on the subject.
Bad news for Intel? The Arc Alchemist A380, available in China through manufacturers such as GUNNIR, is currently being tested and early results don’t seem to live up to expectations. One of the first tests comes from the content creator Shenmedounengce the BiliBili platform.
What to expect from the Intel Arc A380?
The GPU used for the test is the GUNNIR Intel Arc A380 6GB Photon. In the so-called synthetic tests, the card performs well and manages to match or even surpass rivals such as the AMD Radeon RX 6400 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 cards, which are a little behind, and here it is inevitably expected.
This is the case for a number of DX11, DX12 and Vulkan games such as League of Legends, GTA 5, PUBG, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The Intel Arc A380 is slower than the AMD Radeon RX 6400, but also less powerful than the rather old GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card.
It hurts that Intel specifically targeted the AMD Radeon RX 6400 in its Arc A380 press release, even claiming that the new card would offer 25% more performance. And that is clearly not the case. Ouch.
