Shareholders demand annual reports on harassment

Annual, Demand, harassment, reports, shareholders

Will Activision Blizzard release annual reports on harassment and discrimination at its company soon? In any case, if nothing is recorded, that’s what the company’s shareholders want now. The latter recently advocated such transparency in order to better prevent abuse. And if the vote cast isn’t binding on Activision’s management, the pressure is now on his shoulders.

Annual reports on Activision Blizzard’s efforts

It’s a major proposal that Activision Blizzard shareholders have responded to. Last February, New York State, through the voice of Thomas DiNapoli, suggested that the American publisher could actually be more transparent in the future. A proposal that actually took the form of an annual report to highlight the company’s efforts to eliminate and prevent the risks of workplace harassment. And among the key elements, it was hoped Activision could factually communicate about:

  • the total number of pending complaints of sexual abuse, harassment, or discrimination that the company seeks to resolve through internal procedures
  • Details on the company’s progress in reducing the average time it takes to resolve complaints of sexual abuse, harassment or discrimination
  • Amounts spent to resolve disputes related to sexual abuse, harassment, or discrimination
  • consolidated data on wages and hours worked.

Given the numerous allegations of harassment and discrimination against Activition Blizzard, it may seem unreasonable to oppose the publication of such reports. But Activision did. The company’s management did not hesitate to ask its shareholders to vote against this proposal. Arguing that it makes more sense to negotiate directly with employees “instead of wasting energy and resources on producing another report”, Activision administrators ruled that he wasn’t there “The interests of society” to play the game of transparency.

Also desired by shareholders

On June 22, 2022, they were able to raise their votes during a meeting with the shareholders. The majority of shareholders expressed their support for this proposal and consented to the preparation of reports to highlight Activision Blizzard’s commitments and investments. A result that, as the company states, does not oblige the publisher my box.

Shareholders voted in favor of the non-binding shareholder proposal to produce a report on the company’s workplace efforts. Consistent with our ongoing commitments, we will carefully review the proposal to improve our future disclosures. Activision Blizzard remains strongly committed to providing a respectful and welcoming workplace for all of its employees.

Activision Blizzard was already noticed last week after the results of an internal investigation. The company had actually conducted an audit of its own practices and had concluded that none of its actions were reprehensible. Activision Blizzard washes Activision Blizzard after an investigation by Activision Blizzard…the information hadn’t gone unnoticed.

Concurrent with this vote, shareholders also renewed the current leadership of Activision Blizzard. This means that Bobby Kotick will remain at the helm of the company until Microsoft takes over the publisher. This operation should be cleared up by June 2023 and put an end to man’s rule. Multiple pieces of information indicate that plans for his departure have already been plotted, with a sacred parachute as a bonus.
