If you’re like us, the idea of Bloodborne 2 has us dreaming of what a hypothetical sequel to the great gothic action RPG would look like. What dark corners of the world will we explore? What terror awaits us there? enough to make people sick. Enter the recently released Unreal Engine 5 Montage – designed to further explore the premise.
Uploaded to Youtube by Enfant Terrible, this video brings together a series of Unreal Engine 5 projects from a number of talented creators, all of which incorporate dark tones that have helped make Bloodborne the much-loved game it is today.
In it, we see rain-drenched streets, ornate mansions, ravaged and messy lanes, and towering spires. While the video can be a bit harsh at times as the work of different artists is stitched together, this one does provide a good case for setting up a potential Bloodborne 2 in the engine. Some of the highlighted items do feel like you could throw a hunter with a saw in hand right at it.
That being said, some people aren’t entirely convinced of the merits of this trailer. One of user djbeema’s favorite comments on the video said: “Impressive work, but everything looks too nice and clean, and it lacks any vibe of the bloody location”. Of course, this criticism is correct – you can’t stitch together disparate projects and expect to achieve the same tonal consistency that the From Software team is very good at building.
That being said, you can’t watch this fan-made trailer without seeing its appeal. If nothing else, it could even serve as more evidence that the gaming community is hungry for more blood. Let us know what you think of the trailer below, and if you think Unreal Engine 5 is a good fit for a hypothetical sequel.
