It is likely that many have forgotten about a promise that Ubisoft had made a while ago. This is a pirate game that was going to be the heir of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but without anything related to the murderers. His name is Skull & Bones and its release date would have been leaked recently.
The leak would have been made by the Twitter account Lumia updates, which focuses on Microsoft Store reveals for both Windows and Xbox. According to this, Skull & Bones would be available on November 8, 2022. The data would have been obtained by reviewing the internal lists of the Microsoft Store.
This would not be all. The account also notes that the announcement of the game would be imminent. After all, not only would I have found the preorder option of Skull & Bonesbut also what appear to be different DLCs (no official translation yet):
- Bloody Bones’ Legacy Mission.
- The Ashen Corsair Mission.
- Smuggler Pass Token.
- Digital Soundtrack and Artbook.
- Premium Bonus Pack.
According to my box, the beta of this game was scheduled for June. However, this would have been canceled due to problems related to “quality”. If this is true, it would present an unfavorable scenario for a possible launch in November.
Why has the date moved so much? Skull & Bones?
Skull & Bones began being planned as an expansion of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. However, over time it began to be considered as a new game as a service. This also ended up being a problem because basically failed to differentiate itself from other Ubisoft open world games.
Since then, there have been many delays. We are talking that from 2017 to 2020 there was little information, until they confirmed to us in that year that its development was still in process. However, we already expected it to take another while, since the director of it had pointed out that the title had a “new vision”.
