Has Nintendo just given a big hint about its future strategy and next console? This is heavily implied by a new trademark registration.
The Nintendo Switch Pro is talking about it once again. The manufacturer’s next console would support 4K and would have shown what it had in its stomach with the latest Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 trailer. Big N denies its existence, and yet the brand’s Japanese company has just filed a trademark that goes in that direction.
NSW, an acronym for Nintendo Switch Pro?
Rumors about a Switch Pro or a Switch 2 are numerous and contradictory. Some believe the hybrid console would not have an easy upgrade and that the company would offer brand new hardware, while others say the opposite. For its part, Nintendo has given food for thought by registering the NSW trademark. No, you did not misread, an f is not missing. Big N seems to have recorded the abbreviation of its future console here, which could mean a new switch.
A plausible theory, since the Japanese company had already used a similar name for the New 3DS. So we can see there a reference to the one previously called Switch Pro, which could follow an identical strategy. More power, better ergonomics and new features, but which would fit with existing models. All of this is pure speculation as of this writing, but Nintendo appears to be preparing a new Switch. The very reputable Bloomberg also claimed that the developers had received kits for the Switch Pro. Be continued…
