Change the date, time and location of your photos with iOS 16 in a few steps

Change, date, iOS, location, photos, steps, time

If you import photos taken on other devices into your iCloud Photo Library, they may appear with a date or even a place that is not correct. This can affect the order in which the photos are displayed, for example displaying snapshots from five years ago as if they were taken yesterday. You can fix it from iPhone in few steps with iOS 16.

Editing a Photo’s Metadata in iOS 16 Isn’t a Problem

If you have the problem only on a photo, just open it from the iPhone and press the button with the “i” to get information inside a circle (you have it in the bottom bar of screen):

All calls will appear metadata of the photograph, including the date, time, location and data of the device with which it was taken. You are interested in the “Edit” buttons that you have next to the date and time and next to the location:

In each of these two buttons, you will have the option to set a new modified date and time for the photograph (the original will still be kept just in case, but the one you enter will prevail) and a new location:

If, on the other hand, what you want is to set the date and time of several photos at the same time, the way to do it changes slightly. What you need to do is select the photos you want in the reel and press the Share button:

CarPlay will allow us to pay for gas with iOS 16 without getting out of the car

If you’re still using iOS 15, you can find these options in the Share menu:

If you change all the dates and places you consider wrong in your reel, you will get there iCloud Photo Library is displayed in perfect order according to your requests (especially if you like to see this reel automatically organized by Moments). It’s a bit of manual labor if you have a lot of old photos, but it’s worth it.
