It doesn’t come as a surprise given the fact that graphics card prices have been falling for months, but it’s still good to look at: In our most recent survey on the topic of how much money you spend on a GPU, there is a clearer comparison to the two previous surveys decrease in spending.
The last survey at the end of 2021 marked another sad record. Back then, more than a third of you stated that you spent over 700 dollars on a graphics card.
At the time there was a maximum of an RTX 3060 or an RX 6600 XT for 700 dollars or less. Meanwhile you get an RTX 3070 Ti instead or RX 6800. This means significantly more performance for the same money, as our large overview of over 60 current and old GPUs in 14 different performance classes shows:

From over a third down to a quarter
In the current survey, significantly fewer participants (25 percent) state that they spend more than 700 dollars on a graphics card. The biggest winner is the category from 300 to 500 dollars, in which there are now significantly more interesting graphics cards.
With a view to the current generations of AMD (RX 6000) and Nvidia (RTX 3000), there is currently a decent range of current mid-range graphics cards in this area, from the RX 6600 to the RX 6700 XT and the RTX 3050 to the RTX 3060 Ti . At the end of 2021, on the other hand, it only started from 500 dollars if you even wanted to buy one of the new GPUs.

The ranges from 500 to 700 dollars and from 200 to 300 dollars have also increased. On the other hand, only very few of you spend less than 200 dollars on a graphics card.
We plan to conduct another such survey at the end of 2022. By then, at least the first models of the new graphics card generations RX 7000 (AMD) and RTX 4000 (Nvidia) should have appeared.

With a view to the official RRPs, we are currently expecting similar information as for the current models. We also assume that a purchase will be possible at the RRP for the release. However, it is not yet possible to make reliable statements on this due to many influencing factors.
