Overwatch 2: No further open beta planned

Beta, Open, Overwatch, planned

There will be no more open beta until the full release of Overwatch 2 in two months.

There will be no further opportunities for the public to get a taste of the new game before the release of Overwatch 2 on October 4th. Jon Spector confirmed this in a tweet when asked by fans. “We test OW2 internally on a daily basis, but are not planning any further public beta tests,” the official statement said. “With all the valuable feedback we’re able to gather through our alpha and two public beta tests, we’re focusing our efforts on releasing the best game possible on October 4th.”

The first beta was only available to PC players via . The second also included the console version and was mostly focused on crossplay. The fans are impatient and do not seem to be satisfied with this answer. They’re disappointed that there won’t be a third beta. In the Overwatch subreddit in particular, the players are venting their displeasure. Especially since they feel the previous betas haven’t been implemented well. The reactions on Twitter are also mainly negative.

Are you disappointed with this decision? Would you like to take another look at Overwatch 2 before it finally launches? What expectations do you have of the sequel, in which many fans are apparently looking for innovations in vain?
