The League of Legends series “Arcane” took off on Netflix and became a top hit. While we wait for the second season, we can now sweeten the waiting time with a new documentary series.

The previously officially announced documentary series “Bridging the Rift” based on the Netflix success “Arcane” has officially started today. The first of a total of five planned episodes was released today, Thursday.

In the documentary series, Riot Games provides a deeper insight into the creation of the first season of “Arcane”. From now on there will be a new episode every Thursday at 5:00 p.m. until September 1st. Together with the animation studio Fortiche, Riot Games wants to show how “Arcane” has grown from creation to worldwide release.

The series co-produced by the two companies was released on Netflix in November 2021 and quickly became the #1 viewership there; in the streaming giant’s Top 10, “Arcane” stayed at the top for three weeks. The series climbed into the top 10 in a total of 52 countries.

Arcane has also received nine Annie Awards and is nominated for Best Animated Program and Best Sound Editing at the September 2022 Emmy Awards.

A second season has been announced, but the start date for this has yet to be announced. You can watch the first episode of “Bridging the Rift” below.
