midnight sunsa turn-based tactical game set in the Marvel Universe and developed by the same guys behind it XCOMhas been delayed again.
The game was first announced a year agoand was originally scheduled for release in March 2022. While it isn’t exactly the same as Firaxis’ XCOM Series-For example, there will be no permadeath– The studio’s pedigree and the fact that it’s a turn-based tactics game means these links are pretty standard when talking about this game.
Next time we wrote about the game, but things weren’t looking so hot. Until November midnight suns was delayed in the second half 2022, possibly after “much skepticism from fans after a previous live stream of the game which showed some inconsistent graphics.
Now it’s delayed again. As IGN reportwhile Take Two’s Earnings results were announced earlier today midnight suns wouldn’t be out until “later this fiscal year.” Since the current fiscal year ends on March 31, 2023, this certainly points to a release in 2023 or at least very late in 2022.
The decision to reschedule the game once more has been made “to ensure that the teams at Firax is Games and 2K give our fans the best possible experience.” Which is good! After all, a late game is good, etc etc
However, it should be noted that this delay only applies to some of the platforms that the game is intended for. The PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be released by the end of March 2023; Last-gen versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch are due sometime after that the.
