A questionnaire is sent to Overwatch 2 Players suggest the game might have a $45 skin, but snowstorm Officially commented that it does not represent final pricing.
A survey asking players how much they were willing to spend on skins and other cosmetic items was released in late July, and apparently fans were concerned about the idea of spending as much as $45 on a single skin. Now, Blizzard has addressed the investigation, telling IGN that it “does not represent final pricing.”
“This survey is all about better understanding player preferences for different types of Overwatch 2 cosmetic items,” a Blizzard spokesperson told IGN. “Prices shown in the survey are random per user and do not represent final pricing. We plan to share details of our store and battle pass system ahead of the October 4th launch.”
While this doesn’t directly say the skin won’t cost as much as $45, hopefully it’s not “indicating final pricing” information is company jargon, since they won’t cost that much.
One big difference from Overwatch 2 is that there are no more loot chests, probably due to the general dislike of monetization systems, while some countries like Belgium banned them outright. Instead, the multiplayer shooter will have a battle pass that will include new heroes, game modes, maps, and more.
It’s a pretty sweeping change for gaming, although the move to free-to-play obviously makes sense.
New heroes are expected to appear every other season, so it sounds like they’ll have a similar approach overall Apex Legendsanother hero-based shooter with the biggest difference being the PvP elements.
How all this will be monetized is still unclear, but with the launch scheduled for October 4, we may find out soon.
