Scary fans may soon have reason to celebrate. Because as the tweet of a previously reliable leaker suggests, there will soon be news about the well-known series of horror games. You can find out what is currently known and when we can expect an announcement here.
Remake, sequel or something else?
As already mentioned, the latest rumors are based on a tweet by the leaker The Snitch
. So far, he has always been right with his predictions, which he has only published on Twitter for a few months. He also posted the following there:

This phrase may not sound familiar to many of you as it comes from the film adaptation of Alone in the Dark. And it fell through completely with both critics and viewers. It is to be hoped that this is not a continuation of this work.

What can we expect?
Unfortunately, the tweet alone does not indicate what kind of announcement we could expect. After such a long time, a continuation of the series seems unlikely, if not impossible. But we could rather expect a remake of one of the games. Frogware has something similar in mind with the detective adventure The Awakened.
Ultimately, of course, something far less spectacular could be imminent. For example, it was already suspected that it could be a DLC for Dead by Daylight. After all, the multiplayer horror game already has one recently Killer from the Resident Evil series announced.

What is Alone in the Dark anyway?
Alone in the Dark is a series of horror games that is considered the founder of survival horror. We always follow various supernatural cases and events as detective Edward Carnby and are hunted by monsters and spooky characters. The games mostly convinced with their gripping staging and the gloomy atmosphere.
The first part of the series was published in 1992. The last right one
Alone in The Dark was released in 2008 and featured full 3D graphics for the first time in the series. A few years later, the shooter Alone in the Dark: Illumination was released, but it was almost even worse than the film by Uwe Boll. Sascha had the dubious pleasure of testing the game for us.
