In an effort to prove the crowd wrong, Your Average Gamer took their ardent belief in the Faith and put it to the test. Not only did they face the hardest difficulty levels, but they also destroyed a variety of bosses, including such Radagon and the Elden Beast in a single attack. It’s crazy!
Matthew “Your Average Gamer” Farnkopf is a YouTuber dedicated to compiling “crazy elden ring builds.” You have a video about the destruction of Malenia in 90 seconds, another that breaks down the effectiveness of Godrick the Grafted’s great axeand another on the ultimate status effect build. In short, Matt spent much time With elden ring since it fell on February 25th. And yet it is still remarkable You could find a one-shot build strong enough to take down two of the game’s toughest bosses, Radagon of the Golden Order and the elf beastwith a selection of equipment and summons on New Game Plus Seven, the highest difficulty option elden ring currently has to offer. Each round of the New Game Plus keeps all of your gear and stats intact, while increasing the overall damage output and health pool of enemies around you, meaning your average player’s run is some serious shit.
It seems like Matt only throws things to throw things during the fight, but madness actually has an order. As explains in a short video what they call the “ultimate PvE build”. Matt throws first the howl of Shabriri and Golden Vow Summons for some initial status effects, like Insanity Build for Attack Power and Attack Negation respectively. They then poison themselves to increase their Intelligence stat and temporarily increase Lightning Attack Damage. The latter is especially important when paired with them the only attack spell Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strikea late-game ability that you find the labyrinthine legacy dungeon crumbling Farum Azula. After a quick buffing session, Matt turns to her gear for even more buffs –the Gravel Seal to increase the damage of Dragon Cult/Lightning related summons, Jellyfish Shield by 20% increased damage for 30 secondsand Exultation Talisman of Kindred of Rot to increase attack power by 20% for 20 seconds when poison or rot occurs nearbyamong other things – before entering the battle arena to show the final bosses what’s going on.
It was curtains when Matt stepped in front of Radagon. They performed the Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike, a multi-hit attack that sends down multiple bolts of lightning to hit in a specific area, and watched the hammer-wielding god’s health bar melt away in a matter of seconds. Same thing happened with the colossal Elden Beast, and y’all, it’s me choke RN.

said Matt my box via email that they wanted to dispel the myth pervading the game’s community that “Faith [builds aren’t] almost as good as magic.” It took them “nearly 20 hours of trial and error” to find the right combination of gear and summons to do the necessary damage to one-shot kill Radagon and the Elden Beasts, and the Results were stunning.
“I was primarily inspired by proving that something many said couldn’t be done is actually possible… even on the hardest of difficulties,” Matt said. “When I did that on Journey Three, it gave me hope that it was technically possible. Once more to prove how powerful faith can be!”
Matt, to put it bluntly, loves faith. It’s one of their favorite stats to build characters around and a central theme for the game as a whole. Still, getting things just right to accomplish this feat was quite a pain, something that forced her to “stop twice” because it became so time-consuming. Frustrations notwithstanding, Matt said they were “glad [to have] endured” at the end.
“So I’m physically disabled,” Matt said. “I have constant daily stomach problems which can/have become severe at times. I had just recovered from a flare-up of colitis that required me to go to the emergency room. After failing so many times for several hours, I might have found myself in another flare-up. So I relaxed, calmed down and divided my time. From then on I set myself hours when I would do it and exonerated myself. The moment I said, “Okay, if someone else does it, that’s fine,” I was able to relax. Shortly afterwards I was able to reach it anyway!”
Perform a one-shot kill elden ring is impressive, but not entirely new. There was a Redditor in April who killed the infamous Tree Sentinel in one fell swoop and Another speedrunner who built a glass cannon in May to bash bosses with a single blow of her hammer. While it might not be quite as fresh, killing FromSoftware’s notoriously challenging enemies in one fell swoop is still a cool sight. I wish I was patient enough to do this.
While Matt is beaten elden ring several times he is not finished with the game. They hope FromSoftware will bring new content in the form of “very challenging bosses, similar to Dark Souls 3‘s DLC” or “another late-game spike that would put us to the test yet again.” Until then, Matt wanders the Lands Between again, looking for new builds to experiment with.
“I retired the Lightning build/character,” Matt said. “He’s kind of a legacy for me now. I’m starting fresh on a new build and will focus on exploring and the next cool build I can think of. elden ring is an amazing game and the community is amazing! And remember ‘Seek Lightning!’”
