Microsoft has just updated its suite of apps Office for iPadOS with a new function that all users of these applications who write from an iPad have been waiting for a long time. You can finally enter freehand text with Apple Pencil in Office apps.

Undoubtedly a novelty that will go very well for all users who write on their iPad with Apple Pencil and that for some reason (normally due to file compatibility) they use Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint to work with.

Microsoft this week released a new beta version of its Office app for iPad with support for Apple Pencil’s handwriting-to-text feature.Hand write(Doodle). Scribble lets you insert and edit text in a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or Excel spreadsheet using Apple Pencil, and Apple Scribble turns your freehand writing into typed text, as if you wrote it with a keyboard.

After activating the “Handwriting” function in the settings of apple pencil, you can now use it by tapping the “Write in Pencil” button under the Draw tab in version 2.64 of the Office app for iPadOS. The feature can now be tested by members of the Office Insider program via TestFlight, and the update will likely be released on the App Store for all users in the coming weeks.

Scribble was added in iPadOS 14 for any iPad that supports Apple Pencil or the second generation. The list includes iPad Pro, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad mini 5th generation and later, and iPad 6th generation and later.

Microsoft’s unified Office application with Word, power point there Excel It arrived on iPad in February 2021. And alongside the version for iPadOS, it is also available for iOS.
