Dates and prerequisites vary slightly for each platform, so pay close attention to the information below.
Beta Weekend One debuted on PlayStation and will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It will run from Friday, September 16 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK and will end on Tuesday, September 20 at the same time. This weekend is only available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players. You don’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription service to access the beta.

The second beta weekend will feature cross-play. Scheduled to run from Thursday, September 22 10AM PT, 1PM ET, 6PM UK, ends Monday, September 26 Meanwhile, it’s a free open beta for all PlayStation players and other platforms.
Those who pre-ordered the game for Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S can start playing the beta on Thursday, September 22 In the meantime, but know that Xbox players need to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold.
This Xbox Open Beta will start Saturday, September 24 10AM PT, 1PM ET, 6PM UK, running until Monday, September 26 at the same time. It’s accessible to all Xbox players, regardless of pre-order status, and doesn’t require an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

If you pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 digitally, you can play the game up to 7 days in advance.
Doing so will give you early access to Event Mode and other rewards starting in October.
Speaking of this event, with this iteration of the series, you can expect improved graphics built through photogrammetry and visual fidelity of the smallest details such as the physics and graphics of water. You can look forward to an improved shadow system, and the event will offer improved lighting, better sound capture, and real-time mixing and natural restraint.
In addition to early access to the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, digital pre-orders will allow game content to be used immediately in Call of Duty: Pioneer and Call of Duty: Warzone. You’ll also get public beta early access and in-game content when Modern Warfare 2 launches.
Goodies include the Final Judgment Bundle, which gives you instant access to the Legendary Deathstroke Commander skin and Legendary Bloodlust weapon blueprints for use in Vanguard and Warzone.
