Pingu meets Elden Ring thanks to this fan-made Unity project

Elden, fanmade, meets, Pingu, project, Ring, Unity

Remember Pinggu? In a children’s clay show on TV a few years ago, the cute penguin Pinggu went out to eat fish every day and was scolded by his dad? Thanks to the work of a Unity developer – Adrian Mendes – Pingu has found a new home away from the North Pole as the boss in an Elden Ring-inspired project that has been uploaded to the creator’s channel for the world to watch.

In the short video (embedded below), you can see a giant flat valley breaking through the red-lit land. In a deep “Noot noot” where he quickly raises his flippers and kills the player character with one punch, the Elden Ring is very familiar to those who have invested some time in this scene.

Sadly, this is not a model we can experience firsthand. Instead, Mendez built the scene from the group in Unity and wrote in the video description, “This is not a game, just a small project. Sometimes I’m bored…” As for the inspiration for this short and sweet video, Adrian pointed to a musical duo called “Pingu: NOOT NOOT Theme Song but it’s DARK SOULS BOSS MUSIC” that altered Mozart’s Lacrimosa to better reflect a fitting BOSS theme for the beloved bird.

For those unconnected to internet meme culture, Pingu has lived far beyond his expected lifespan, thanks to the internet’s weird collective mind. Animations of the characters attract millions of views and then go on to generate entertainment of their own. In addition, the praise and condolences go out to Pingu’s voice actor and fellow actor of the classic TV show, Carlo Bonomi, for their tragic passing earlier this month at the age of 85.

What do you think of this fan-made unity project? Would you like to see Pingu continue as a mature model in the Elden Ring and beyond? Let us know below!
