During the 2022 destiny 2 Showcase, Bungie revealed the expansion next year, incidence of lightas well as Destiny 2: Season of Plunder, which started on Tuesday afternoon. One of the biggest announcements, however, was the reveal of Bungie’s second retaliatory strike in destiny 2. King’s case, the original determination‘s biggest and best raid is officially upon us destiny 2 on August 26th.
King’s Fall was first introduced during The Taken King extension in the original determination – fondly remembered by dedicated fans as the “Golden Age” of Destiny. In the raid, Wardens dive into the Dreadnaught, Oryx’s flagship, and battle the Taken King himself. Players fought a variety of Hive and Taken enemies in the raid, killed four bosses (Warpriest, Golgoroth, the Daughters of Oryx and Oryx), and engaged in numerous boss-to-boss encounters.
In 2021, Bungie launched Vault of the Glass – the very first Destiny raid destiny 2 and made numerous changes to it to make it feel a bit more modern. It’s unclear what Bungie will change with King’s Fall. Guardians wishing to compete in Friday’s World’s First race are subject to the same parameters as the Vault of Glass race and must: Beat King’s Fall while under level, in “Competitive Mode” before beating King’s Fall a second time (still under competition) while completing secret, encounter-specific challenges.
Although fans knew how to defeat Vault of Glass, the raid race was a serious test for Guardians. With King’s Fall being a significantly longer raid, the World’s First Raiders have a real challenge ahead of them on August 26th.
Any raider, World’s First or otherwise, will of course enjoy some of the best raid weapons and armor ever by chopping down Oryx again. Smite of Merain, the pulse rifle from King’s Fall, is a particular fan favorite that’s almost certain to make a return.
