elden ring Fans have spent the last few months begging FromSoftware for new content, but instead of waiting, environmental artist Eugenia Lysa started imagining her own world. Then she did everything to make it happen.
Lysa estimates that she spent about four months working on what is perhaps the most elaborate “concept art” I’ve seen, all dedicated to a potential expansion of the story elden ring. This is not just a set of concept art, although their ArtStation shows many things that would make you feel at home elden ring art book. She actually booted up a game engine to get the proof of concept working and talking. What’s particularly amazing here is that she had to learn a lot of skills on the fly to achieve this.
“There were a lot of things I’ve never worked on before (e.g. music, voiceover creation and 3D animation) and I wasn’t even sure if I could see it through to the end,” Lysa said in an email, “but it was so It’s really surprising to find out that there is so much free information to find online, so many forums with people eager to help solve a problem that it turned out not to be as scary as it seemed.”
Part of what makes this so damn good is that it clearly put a lot of thought into what might make sense in it elden ringis confused lore. Lysa enters everything from item descriptions to important characters and weapons here to create a believable reason for her idea. In short, Lysa was inspired by the singing bats, which you first encounter on the Weeping Peninsula. As the adorable creatures speak Latin, fans have translated the lyrics, which seem to tell a story that takes place well before the events of elden ring.

Lysa then envisions a whole questline involving the Formless Mother that includes NPCs, bosses with multi-part fights, and of course, heaps of tragedy. I won’t spoil the exact details because a lot of the fun comes from watching the video and wondering what’s going to happen next. I would imagine this to be a quest walkthrough at a gaming event where some new content is being shown.
Lysa is also careful to tell us how the DLC would fit into the game in the first place, and it aligns with key theories about how FromSoftware will pull it through across the board. In short, it’s about time travel and uncovering certain parts of the map that are currently suspiciously obscured. My favorite part about these details, however, is how Lysa envisions the quest ending: Gideon is kind of an ass.
Lysa says she went through all of this difficulty because “…to be honest, it was a lot more fun than going with the usual 2D concept art. When I do these hobby projects, I love to learn new skills and push myself to mix everything together to see where it ends up.”
“And secondly,” she added, “I just think this medium suits these hobby projects better than stills, especially when you want to tell a complex story (e.g. an NPC’s story) or the viewer/player through the plot.” wants to lead.”
Usually, Lysa says my box, When she makes fan art, she writes a lot of notes in the margins. But leaving it at Marginia sucked the fun out of it elden ring DLC concept.
“Fully narrated video, on the other hand, takes you through the story without having to read an inordinate amount of text in the margins, and is supported by videos, fake gameplay footage, concept art, etc. to support that narrated story,” she said.
“In videos, you can gradually lay things out, keep twisting the plot until the very end, and build the anticipation, which I think is very important to the overall experience,” Lysa notes.
