Splatoon 3 It may not actually be out yet, but people are still experiencing the console and possibly Nintendo Switch Online banning cheats.
In recent years, Nintendo It’s been in online testing for its multiplayer, and it just got tested with Splatoon 3 over the weekend, giving everyone their first taste of the revamped Splatfests. This Objectively correct rock wins the festivities, but it seems that some players are not just for splashing water. According to Nintendo Life, data miner OatmealDome has discovered that Nintendo has banned players who modify the game.
The main reason players are getting banned seems to be that they are accessing areas they don’t yet have access to, such as testing areas, by using patches shared online. OatmealDome notes that if players modify the game, they will receive a console ban, and possibly even a complete ban from Nintendo Switch Online.
Splatoon 2 It also has an anti-cheat system that was added back in 2018, so it’s likely that Nintendo is just using the same system, if not a very similar one. OatmealDome points out that Splatoon 2 is able to detect a patch similar to the one used in the Splatoon 3 demo, so it’s unclear why people are trying to access the new area with that in mind.
Regardless, with Splatoon 3 launching next week (September 9th), we’ll see other areas soon.
In iGamesNews’s preview of the upcoming multiplayer shooter, we said “Do you like Splatoon? If you do, this is definitely more Splatoon, well-made and sure to satisfy. If you’re new to the series, Splatoon 3 Will prove to be an ideal starting point, with smart tutorials in the form of a new story mode, weapons that are easier to understand and understand, and more customization than ever.”
[Splatoon 3]
Splatoon 3 has an anti-cheat feature.
Nintendo started issuing console bans (perhaps a blanket ban from NSO?) to players who modded the game.
I won’t go into the details of how it works, because anti-cheat relies on the security of obscurity.
