The Logitech G502 is one of the manufacturer’s most popular gaming mice. With the G502 X series, the same now gets an upgrade along with modernization, albeit not in all respects.

Logitech G today introduced the latest versions of the popular G502 gaming mouse. The new G502 X, the G502 X Lightspeed and the G502 X Plus lay the foundation for the new mouse generation with several innovative functions.

The first point of renewal are the new opto-mechanical Lightforce switches for the mouse buttons. Lightforce is a novel microswitch technology that combines the benefits of an optical switch with the click feel of a mechanical switch. The technology is based on the usual light barriers, but uses galvanic contacts within the switch, which retain the click feeling of a mechanical switch.

The G502 X features a redesigned reversible and detachable DPI toggle button that adapts to different hand sizes and grip styles. There is also a particularly light scroll wheel that still has the dual endless scroll and precise ratchet modes of the G502.

In addition to the features described, the G502 X Lightspeed has an improved wireless protocol with response times that are up to 68 percent faster than their predecessors. The improved technology also makes it possible to connect two Lightspeed devices to a single receiver via the Device Pairing Tool in the Logitech G Hub. The G502 X-Series also supports the Logitech G Powerplay wireless charging mats, which ensure unlimited battery life without cables.

The Logitech G502X, G502X Lightspeed, and G502 X Plus gaming mice are expected to be available exclusively on LogitechG.com in August 2022, followed by global retail sales thereafter, at MSRPs of $79.99, $149, and $169, respectively. Our test of the new G502 will follow shortly, the test sample has already arrived.
