The massive Apple Store on the corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Plaça Catalunya isn’t the only location the Cupertino company has in central Barcelona. Just in front, crossing the street, Apple has already officially opened new offices where it will mainly house the AIML team (in English, the acronym for Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning). This is part of the company’s expansion process in Europe – which is stronger than ever – even in these uncertain times.
We can easily locate these offices because they are in the 19th century modernist building Palau Pons i Pasqual, which Apple even recently restored. They are an example of how Apple increased its workforce in Europe, both by detail in stores such as the company.
2,000 jobs at Apple Europe and acceleration of its investments in the country
Apple’s growth in Europe is firm: with the example of the AIML team located in Barcelona, we are already talking about the group of professionals dedicated to artificial intelligence the largest in continental Europe. The Europe squad will continue to grow next year, which currently has over 40 vacancies across the country.
Apple already has 2,000 employees between stores and Spanish offices, and indirectly supports more than 120,000 jobs in Europe, thanks to the volume of business generated by iOS applications. For anyone interested, you can see all the job offers offered by Apple in Barcelona (and also in Madrid) on its official website: there are currently more than 40 job offers available.
The company continues the search for engineers and engineers working at Apple and its technologies: “We continue to invest in Europe and grow our team. Thanks to the excellent local talent, we are building a top-level engineering team in Barcelona” – comment Elisabeth Bou-BalustSenior Engineer of the AIML team – “At Apple, you have the opportunity to work with top industry professionals in an inclusive and diverse environment”.
Undoubtedly good news in a complicated economic context: the job creation and job opportunities and the talents in Europe that Apple has committed to will also be the story of the future of the company, which has been growing in Europe since 1985 with 11 Apple Stores throughout the country.
