Gaming News ANNO 2070, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood … Several Ubisoft games get a few months delay
A few weeks ago, Ubisoft took the floor to announce very bad news: 15 games will close their online servers, including several classics like Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and ANNO 2070. But that was without counting on a small last-minute turnaround. ..
A little breather for many Ubisoft games
On July 4th, Ubisoft announced that from September 1st, several games will disable their online functions, starting with Assassin’s Creed 3 but also Brotherhood, Far Cry 3 and ANNO 2070.
Closing online services for some older games allows us to focus our resources on providing great experiences for players playing newer or more popular titles. To help us achieve this goal, some older titles are being added to our list of outdated online services. Ubisoft
But today, small reversal of situations. Except for Space Junkies, which really closes its doors tomorrow, For all other games, the online services shutdown date has been pushed back by one month.
Last month we informed you of the retirement of online services for certain legacy Ubisoft games effective September 1, 2022. We don’t take the retirement of online services for legacy games lightly, but it’s also a necessity as the technology that powers these services becomes obsolete. Over the past month, our teams have been hard at work exploring ways to reduce disruption. For this reason, we have postponed the decommissioning date from September 1, 2022 to October 1, 2022.
