MultiVersus has announced that Gizmo, the lovable mogwai from the iconic ’80s horror comedy Gremlins, will join the roster of playable characters. While not the biggest fan of fighting games, this little guy will almost certainly have me diving into MultiVersus again when it launches on Tuesday, September 6th.
Whenever September comes, I immediately start to feel autumn, even though the sun is still shining. You know it’s just a matter of time before Halloween comes, then Christmas, then New Years. It all goes by so fast, but there’s one thing I love about this vintage. Watch all the seasonal movies that feel inappropriate at any other time.
I think the team at Player First Games must have felt the same way, because one of the films was Gremlins. So it felt like the perfect time to introduce the gizmo as we approached the fall. Especially when we know Stripe is just around the corner too.

This is also far from what MultiVersus expected. Black Adam will also join We also expect Rick Sanchez in the first season of the game sooner or later. Further data mining also suggests that we might also see Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch of the West. All in all, MultiVersus is building a huge roster of beloved characters, and that’s what I’m here for.
