A lucky few are trying out the upcoming Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One dashboard redesign. This is how it will look and what new options will be available.
The Xbox Series and Xbox will continue to evolve over the coming months. Or even now if you’re enrolled in the Xbox Insiders program. Microsoft is in fact testing a new interface common to its consoles, based on player feedback, in order to achieve better responsiveness and faster entry into a game.
Xbox Series and Xbox One are getting an overhaul
Microsoft has rolled out an update for the upcoming new Xbox Series and Xbox One interface. “We’re focused on making it faster and easier to get to the games you love and find your next favorite.” said Ivy Krislov, Senior Product Manager at Xbox. This dashboard is in private testing phase and will continue to evolve over the coming weeks thanks to user feedback. But here are the main changes.
This Xbox Series and Xbox One home menu will introduce a new “Jump back in” bar to get back to the most recently launched games and applications faster. The thumbnail of the most recently used game or application on the far left is also the same size as the others. It’s currently bigger.
There will also be shortcuts for the Microsoft Store, a search function and a “My Games & Apps” box. An Add to Play Later option is also provided with categories and recommendations based on your preferences, or a Recently Added to Xbox Game Pass section.
