Starlink may be one of the satellite service providers for the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14.
During the September 7 event, Apple presented the new iPhone 14, with some interesting features in terms of the camera section. One of the main novelties that have been announced for the devices is the ability to connect via satellite.
During the event, it was confirmed that the satellite service provider would be Globalstar
Starlink may provide iPhone 14 satellite services
In case you don’t remember, Starlink is the satellite internet project operated by SpaceX, one of Elon Musk’s companies. Recently, telecommunications company T-Mobile signed a partnership to add mid-band PCS spectrum from Starlink V2 satellites to be launched next year.
Why is this important? Because it would allow T-Mobile customers to connect to Starlink satellites
For this reason, Elon Musk tweeted
We’ve had promising talks with Apple about Starlink connectivity. The iPhone team is obviously super smart. Undoubtedly, closing the link between space and the phone will work better if the software and hardware of the phone accept space signals rather than Starlink which purely emulates the cell tower.
Although there is no closed deal, If Elon Musk has already spoken, it’s because there really are negotiations for general agreement. We hope to hear news very soon.
