Evil West shows off more gameplay that makes you really sad about the delay

evil west is a game you’ll hear about a lot in the coming months, and some might even say it might be your favorite action game of 2022. The Flying Boar third-person shooter meets action game has unveiled a lengthy new gameplay trailer.

This is the second one we’ve seen this summer and it looks even better. While the focus remains on the action, this new footage does provide a deeper look into the narrative and sees some of the characters.

The Wicked West takes place in another historical version of the Wild West. The trailer shows the game’s events align with Lincoln’s presidency, which is a nice touch. We get to see the cowboy protagonist visit the headquarters of the secret vampire hunting team he works for.

It looks like we’ll be revisiting that place for new upgrades and maybe even advancing the story. The cutscenes can be considered spoilers given what happened, but it at least hints at a more dynamic environment than we’ve seen before.

That said, most of the battles take place in closed arenas, similar to Shadow Warrior and New Doom. Action-wise, we don’t see any new powers or moves, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. I also have to commend Flying Wild Hog for keeping the HUD on, which really provides context for what’s going on.

Evil West launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 22 — previously delayed from September.
